Dr James Clark is a lecturer in the School of Health and joined UniSC in 2022. Prior to joining UniSC, James undertook his PhD in sport psychology at QUT, studying mental toughness in women’s Australian rules football. James completed a double degree in Exercise and Movement Science / Psychology and his honours in psychology at QUT.
James is an enthusiastic educator, who strives to engage students in learning through student-focussed teaching methods. He enjoys teaching students about sport and exercise psychology and research methods and design. This approach to teaching saw him recognised and admitted as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Research
Research Summary
James’ research interests are sport and performance psychology and personality. Primarily examining mental toughness and the personality of elite level athletes. He is also passionate about research in women’s sport and advancing our understanding of elite female performers.
