Best Field Trip in the World – Terms and Conditions of Entry
General
The University of the Sunshine Coast ABN 28 441 859 157 (UniSC) located at UniSC Sippy Downs (90 Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs QLD 4556) is the Promoter.
The Promoter is running the ‘Best Field Trip in the World Competition’ (the Competition).
Entrants are invited to participate in the Competition for a chance to win one of three field trip prizes by submitting a photo that aligns with the field trip they wish to win and reflects what they aspire to study after high school. The Prize Trips are:
Field Trip 1 (Talk sports): Friday, 1 May 2026;
Field Trip 2 (Science and tech): Monday, 8 June 2026; and
Field Trip 3 (Explore K'gari): Saturday, 13 June to Sunday, 14 June 2026.
Entry into the Competition will be deemed as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the Competition without notice for any event outside of its reasonable control. Any changes will be posted on the Promoter’s website.
If the integrity or administration of the Competition is adversely affected, the Promoter may:
disqualify any individual; or
modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition.
The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Promoter reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Personal information provided may be used for Competition and marketing purposes. Entrants may opt out of communications at any time. Information will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) and UniSC’s Privacy Statement.
The Promoter may capture and use photographs, audio and video of entrants for promotional purposes without compensation.
The Competition may be promoted via Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The Competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by these platforms.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland.
Entrants must submit a photo aligned with their chosen Prize Trip and complete all required fields.
There is no entry fee; all preparation costs are the entrant’s responsibility.
Only one entry per entrant is permitted.
Entries are deemed received at the time they are received by the Promoter.
Late, lost or misdirected entries are not the responsibility of the Promoter.
Entries must not infringe third-party rights or include identifiable people without permission.
Entrants grant the Promoter a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use their entry for:
conducting the Competition;
educational purposes; and
promotional and marketing activities.
Judging and Prize Winners
Judging
Entries will be judged by a panel appointed by the Promoter.
Judging dates:
Talk sport: Thursday, 2 April 2026
Science and tech: Monday, 11 May 2026
Explore K'gari: Friday, 15 May 2026
Entries will be judged on:
originality;
authenticity;
emotion; and
execution.
Prize Winners
Fifteen winners will be selected for each Prize Trip.
Winners will be notified by email and phone and must respond within 48 hours.
Prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
Prize Trips will commence and conclude at the following UniSC campuses:
Talk sport: UniSC Sunshine Coast
Science and tech: UniSC Moreton Bay
Explore K'gari: UniSC Sunshine Coast
The Promoter will cover costs during the Prize Trip. Travel to and from the start location is the winner’s responsibility.
The Promoter may substitute a prize of similar value if required.
Liability and Indemnity
Except where liability cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter excludes all liability for loss, damage or injury arising from the Competition or Prize Trip.
Each entrant indemnifies the Promoter against claims arising from their participation or breach of these Terms and Conditions.
